We are delighted that you have decided to apply to the Quantitative and Chemical Biology Program using our online application system. Applying electronically has several advantages. When you submit your electronic application, your information will automatically be entered into our database. You will be given a user ID and password which will allow you to re-access and edit your application as well as print out a copy at anytime. You will also be able to check your application status.

There is NO FEE to apply online. For a number of years, Vanderbilt has not charged an application fee for programs in the Graduate School. It is our goal that all individuals regardless of socioeconomic status are encouraged to apply for consideration for one of our programs.

We strongly recommend that you use our online recommendation feature. Inside the online application, you will be asked to provide the e-mail addresses of three recommenders. Vanderbilt will contact your recommenders by e-mail and provide them with a link to a Web site, a password, and instructions on how to submit their recommendations online. Online recommendations are instantly attached to your application. If you are unable to provide e-mail addresses for your references, it is your responsibility to contact your recommenders and provide them with the recommendation form. Paper letters of recommendation should be sent to the postal address given below.

To complete your application requirements, you will need to contact ETS to have your GRE scores and TOEFL scores (international applicants only) forwarded to Vanderbilt University (school code: 1871). Once the scores are received by Vanderbilt, your scores will be attached to your application to all Vanderbilt programs to which you apply. Unofficial scores may be entered on page 2 of the application and are sufficient until the official scores arrive.

Transcripts: Transcripts should be uploaded to your application. Do NOT send them by mail. Only transcripts uploaded to your application will be reviewed. Failure to do so will delay the review of your application. We will request your official transcripts only if an offer of admission is extended to you.
If you have applied previously to Vanderbilt University and wish to reapply,
you must access your previous record in order to create a new application,
under the "Re-Apply" heading of your Applicant Menu page.

If applicable, paper letters of recommendation *only* (No Other Paper Materials) may be sent to:
Vanderbilt University
340 Light Hall
Nashville, TN 37232-0301
